I'm curious. I've gotten into an argument with someone on the FP who insists that Hyundai is copying VW, even down to the key.

I'm convinced that the keys are actually the same, as in built by the same supplier.

My key is from Valeo, you can see a logo imprinted on the metal of the key as well as in the recess where the key sits pre-flip. Take a look at yours and report back with car manufacturer and key maker

So mine's a Chevy, and it's from Valeo

Wouldn't surprise me that one company handles multiple company's keys.

I don't have a flip key for my Veloster, but it is a prox. key and its the EXACT same as my friends Optima. Exact same as the Equus. Probably the K900/K9/Qouris/Whatever it is.

Honda here. H Badge on "key", and "F" stamped on key itself.

Key Fob says HONDA, and on the back OMRON CORP JAPAN

Scion FR-S. The key has a 'G' stamped on it. The fob part is Denso.

...but with a Scion oval instead.

It might have been the same as my Forte. It had the same proximity key as some Hyundai's, just with a Kia logo.

To be fair, I think that Hyundai hasn't copied VW at all, except for the key.

My Volkswagon has a key from Huf.

Also, I'm totally not on the FP.
